Restaurant Hjerta is run by Swedish chef Malin Söderström (who is famous from doing cooking on swedish TV). She operates two restaurants (also the restaurant at the Modern museum of arts) on the waterside of Skeppsholmen .
At Restaurant Huerta she wanted to see more of season mindset. With the location at the quayside she wanted to bring in a more close to the archipelago feeling in the kitchen. Therefore the menu has everything from smoked fish, meat – and ice cream (in summer outside).
The menu is small and the dishes somewhat robust. Many of the dishes are just smoked. As Skagen röran, served in a large clicks even as half portion and with great taste. For seafood lovers, there is also the ”Archipelago Plank”, a variety of finger foods from the sea to divide into two or four. Skeppsholmspizza, which is very affordable for its 130 SEK, served in two variants. The version with smoked chuck steak and pepper mayonnaise has a good balance of smokiness, but the salt mayonnaise. The vegetarian pizza with artichoke is very hot with the priest cheese, sour cream fund chillies.
Outside the restaurant has a new outdoor terrace been built and almost doubled the restaurant in size. From a white and red Citroën bus from 1962 sold refreshments and there are plans for a picnic to go (unfortunately summer only)
From the outside the building may not like much (located in the same building as the previous restaurant Pontus by the sea), but inside you’ll find French 20’s vibes . Here is an open kitchen and 20-inspired décor with brass fittings and a large bar in the middle. At the front, the quay, is spreading even outside terrace out with a large bar and dining area, one of the city’s most popular modes in the summer especially on sunny days.
Apparently the crowd of guests is business people and a lot of tourists. The menu focuses mainly on French brasserie cuisine with emphasis on seafood and char-grilled meat. The seafood line up on the ice in our amazing seafood dishes in the open kitchen.
From the menu we chose salmon on a bed of vegetable with an aioli based sauce. Before our lunch we are served a mushroom soup that is tasty but not more than this. When we are presented the bill we also get at ”goodie bag” to take away – an home made energy bar which is a positive surprise. Service at the restaurant is very friendly although a bit slow considering the lunch rush.
But although the kitchen, under the chef Jonas Markstedts management, is fairly stable maybe there is something missing.
However the view from the restaurant almost forgives anything the restaurant lacks. Its is probably not at restaurant that every will get a star recognition but this is not the aspiration either.
The restaurant have around 20 seats in around 20 Sqm with simple and functional decoration (menu is on the wall, no printed menus). It opens (for first seating) at 8pm and the restaurant soon filled and the atmosphere was fantastic with everyone really enjoying the conviviality.
The chef was absolutely amazing (watching him select, weigh up, marinate and arrange the meat on the grill was pure theatre). He worked hard and alone, and fair price for the meat and the work.
The meat was first grilled on the higher level for about 15 -20 mins. then on to the lower level and to char it to perfection. It was well cooked and served with yummy juicy serve with their own mango cause. All escorted by a simple green salad and sweet potato frites

The two buildings that form Långa Raden (the long row) was collectively built in 1699-1702 to accommodate the 200 bodyguards of King Charles XII. As Charles spent most of his regency on the battlefields, however, neither building was used for the original purpose, serving instead to house the poor and homeless.
With in fantastic setting (inside Hotell Skeppsholmen) It feels as if we are on an island in the Stockholm archipelago , but in fact, we are on an island in the middle of Stockholm. The feeling of tranquility and seclusion characterize Restaurant Långa Raden (translated – the long row). It is open all year, but of course summertime with its big outside terrace and possibilities for children to play in the garden, has its clear advantages.
The interior concept with Scandinavian minimalism runs even through the menu. Here classics like meatballs and Kalixlöjrom (Roe) and shrimp sallad is a given place, although all have been given a modern twist.
The combination of ingredients and seasonings are sometimes surprising but the menu is short but well thought out and has a clear Swedish touch without being dogmatic.

You only live once (YOLO) opened in august 2014 and has become one of the most appreciated restaurant in Djursholm. Situated on a restaurant ”busy” street (where you will also find La Piazza and Monrad’s. Top restaurateur Jonas Lundgren ( silver medalist in the chef world championships in 2009 and with its own restaurant Jonas on Kungsholmen) created the menu but are not seen in the kitchen so often. That is not negative in any way. In the Kitchen you will findchefs Danny Falkeman and Jonas Lagerström as boss of the daily work. Yolo is a fine dining restaurant in relaxed surroundings, it has a ”at home” feeling about it with a Svenskt Tenn touch.
Overall I’m impressed by Yolos brilliant craftsmanship , excellent flavor combinations and total solfège regarding empathetic service.
Yolo will offer lunch and dinner , and weekend brunch . Raw materials (with focus on swedish eco friendly food) are chosen with care and the menu is replaced frequently .

On the top floor in the shopping center MOOD Stockholm, you will find Cafe Egoiste, a cafe / bistro serving everything from self-produced wares to a menu containing the best from France, inspired by its former Asian colonies. A visit to the cafe Egoiste is like a mini vacation to Paris, an opportunity for good food, coffee and pastries in a small oasis in the big city.
Café Egoiste is the sister cafe to Cafe Saturnus but serves more food like dishes. Café Egoiste opens already at 7 on weekday morning with breakfast, then continues with a lunch which is changed every day and ends with bistro dishes, salads, and sandwiches until closing 20:00. On weekends, breakfast is served from breakfast then turns into a very popular brunch served between 12 and 17:30. Not the cheapest place around, but well worth your money spent.
The need for meetings and conferences in central Stockholm will always be big and Cafe Egoiste contribute to this with a ‘Business Lounge’ which is bookable for up to 14 people at a fee of 1000 SEK.
On the terrace there are also two tree houses that can accommodate eight people each, those booked through MOOD Stockholm Consiergesservice. Looks pretty cool.
The restaurant area is complemented by an ”terrace” that has a champagne club/bar which is run by none other than champagne expert Richard Juhlin .

Cafe Saturnus is a popular cafe and restaurant located on Östermalm in central Stockholm. In the relaxed environment you will be served deluxe simple but tasty café food . The premises , in which one finds everything from dedicated regulars to curious tourists and very famous people like Roger Federer and Princess Madeleine with her husband Chris!
They all contribute together with the staff to a genuine atmosphere inspired by France – in the mornings there will be loud french music like for example Edith Piaff in the cafe.
Currently ranked as the 54th best restaurant/cafe of over 2000 in Stockholm by users on the Tripadvisor. The large cinnamon rolls are especially well-known in Stockholm, where they become something of a classic among locals. Also their Banoffe Pie is awesome!
Cafe Saturn is owned and operated by Christina and Christos Pispas who took over the business after the previous owners in 2003. They are often seen in the kitchen (Christina) and talking to customers in the cafe (Christos)
To get in the right mood in the morning, stop by for a double espresso macchiato, read the papers and enjoy the french music. You will not be disappointed!

Situated in the northern part of the Marais district – Restaurant Dessance – a neologism that combines ”dessert” with the french word for birth (nuissance) is what gave this restaurant its name. It certainly give this modern looking restaurant a very special touch with focus on what you eat after your main course i.e. dessert!
The creator Philip Baranes wanted a restaurant that rethought the conventions of a meal. The menu at Dessance doesn’t run toward the pastries, cakes and tarts that a desserts-only concept might imply, but rather offers a small but intriguing collection of dishes that can be eaten as both desserts and main courses
To make this come true, Baranes recruited the talented young chef Christophe Boucher (pic below), who had previously worked at the edgy Aux Mare des Oiseaux auberge near La Baule and Restaurant Ledoyen and Le Grand Vefour in Paris, to create the menu.Bucher created dishes that weren’t to much based on sugar and instead he worked with fruits, vegetables and fresh herbs to create fantastic flavors. The audience seems to love it since it has received great reviews and are rated among top 5% of restaurants on Tripadvisor in Paris. If you want ”the full monty” experience then order the “Carte Blanche” menu — which includes an appetizer, four desserts and tiny confections and the drink pairings, in which wine, fruit juice, tea, coffees and even whiskey ) are offered with each course.From my point of view, Dessance is just as propriate for a long lunch (business or private) as for dinner. Go here if you want to try something new, energizing and fresh…if McDonalds or Pizza Hut is your favorite dinner ”crib”….well don’t go.
